ABOUT ME
I am currently a Project Manager for Chicago Scenic Studios Inc. (CSSI), a commercial scene shop that builds and manages projects for theatre, dance, film/TV, museums, and industrial/commercial events.  I hold an M.F.A. in Technical Direction with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and Theatre History from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.  With over 15 years of professional theatre experience under my belt I have worked for numerous educational and professional theatre, opera, and light opera companies.

I am an active member of USITT and a student of innovation and research as an integral aspect of technical direction.  I write for Stage Directions: The Answer Box and recently served as an editor for this year's Tech Expo.  I love teaching technical direction/project management and am available to facilitate a number of workshops and seminars at the undergraduate and graduate level.

On a personal level, I currently live in Chicago, IL with my partner Heather.  She manages the Jumpstart program at DePaul University, training and supervising college students in year-long mentorships with preschoolers from underserved communities.  We share our home, or rather they share it with us, with 3 dogs (Padfoot, Lily, and Molly).  My favorite pastimes include reading, traveling, and taking the dogs to the park.  You can also frequently find me designing technical solutions with Legos, Magnetix and K'nex, or blogging about technical solutions and innovative materials.
